Herbal Bundles for cleansing & smudging have a long traditional use in many cultures. Mikael has been growing, harvesting, drying & burning her own home-grown sages since her early teens, and we are very proud to offer a small selection of lovingly bundled herbs.
Traditionally used to promote rest & lucid dreams, Mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris) is also lovely as a space-cleanser when steamed or smudged. Our Mugwort Bundles are cut from the organic-practicing Sage & Thistle Garden at peak harvest time to ensure their potency. Each Bundle is approximately 15g, and provides many smudges or steams.
Our Sage Bundles are a combination of sages from our urban garden and may include Common Sage, Peruvian Sage, White Sage, Honey Melon Sage, Pineapple Sage, and Prairie Sage (technically an Artemesia but traditionally used in many North American Indigenous cultures).
To use as smudge: burn small amounts in fire-safe container to cleanse your space of negative energy. Before composting or disposing of burned pieces, run under water to ensure there is no residual heat. (When Mugwort is burned, it smells similar to Prairie Sage (Artemesia ludoviciana) & is used in a similar way). Do not burn in potted plants.
To steam: In a heat-safe bowl or pot, pour simmering water over Herb pieces & allow the steam to fill the space. When finished and cool, compost plant material.
